New planes for Poland faster than planned? Airbus reveals details
Poland is prioritizing the modernization of its air fleet, focusing on new transport aircraft, tankers, and training helicopters. Airbus has expressed readiness to deliver A400M aircraft ahead of the 2030 deadline set by the EU's SAFE program, contingent on the Polish government's decision-making speed. Poland is considering purchasing 8 to 15 A400M planes to enhance its strategic and tactical capabilities. Collaborative efforts with Spain are underway for joint procurement, including a multinational A400M fleet. Additionally, Poland is finalizing the acquisition of four A330 MRTT tankers to support its F-35 operations. The competition for training helicopters includes Airbus's H145M and Leonardo's AW109M, with Airbus willing to share intellectual property rights with Polish partners. Airbus plans to increase its workforce in Poland significantly by 2030, contributing to local job creation and economic growth.
