New findings from "WSJ": Musk is behind the slowdown of Starshield for Ukraine
Elon Musk allegedly ordered a slowdown of Starshield, the military version of Starlink used by Ukraine, according to the Wall Street Journal. This decision reportedly followed discussions with Donald Trump after the slowdown became public. Ukrainian military equipment has been losing satellite connection when exceeding speeds of 160 km/h since October 14. While Musk claimed that the Pentagon and ultimately the president decide on such matters, Pentagon officials stated that they had not retracted any services. Analysts suggest that these limitations hinder Ukrainian military operations and have made some drones ineffective, allowing Russian missiles to bypass air defenses. Ukrainian officials are awaiting official explanations from the Pentagon and SpaceX regarding the situation.
