New L4 rules from 2027. A revolution for those working in multiple places
New regulations regarding sick leave (L4) will come into effect in January 2027, allowing employees to work in one job while on sick leave from another, depending on their health condition. Currently, employees must obtain separate sick leave for each job if they are insured by multiple employers. The new rules will enable those with multiple employment titles to continue working in a role that is compatible with their health, while still receiving benefits for their illness. Additionally, since April 2026, there are stricter guidelines on what employees can do while on sick leave, prohibiting most paid work but allowing incidental tasks necessary for urgent matters.
