New direction in ADHD pharmacotherapy? Preliminary results of the experimental drug are promising

Alkermes has announced promising preliminary results from a Phase 2 study of its experimental drug ALKS 7290 for treating ADHD. The study involved 312 adults, with initial results from 50 participants showing potential benefits. Participants had moderate to severe ADHD symptoms and discontinued their previous medications for two weeks prior to the trial. They were divided into groups receiving either 20 mg or 50 mg of the drug, or a placebo, over a 14-day period.
