New wave of cyberattacks on cooling systems in Sweden, Belgium, and Luxembourg
Recent cyberattacks on refrigeration systems in Sweden, Belgium, and Luxembourg have caused significant food spoilage, resulting in losses worth millions. Supermarkets like Ica and Coop in Sweden experienced freezer temperatures rising to 55 °C, while Ahold Delhaize stores in Belgium were also affected. These incidents follow similar attacks in France, where temperatures reached 80 °C. Experts warn about the vulnerabilities of critical infrastructure due to poor cybersecurity and outdated software. No authorities have identified the entities responsible for these attacks yet.
