Number of people in employment down 7,000 in Sept on August says Istat

In September, Italy saw a decrease of 7,000 employed individuals compared to August, but an increase of 198,000 from September 2025. The total employment reached 24,328,000. Unemployment rose by 4,000 from August and by 117,000 year-over-year. The inactive population aged 15 to 64 decreased by 3,000 from the previous month and by 293,000 from September 2025. The employment rate remained at 63%, while the unemployment rate stayed stable at 6.3%.
