A winner has been announced for the public procurement for the renovation of the Petőfi Bridge

A Speciálterv Kft. has won the public procurement for the renovation of the Petőfi Bridge in Budapest, with plans to prepare necessary permits by 2027. The local government will decide on the extent of the renovation, whether to focus on maintenance or a complete overhaul. The company has prior experience with BKK projects, including a feasibility study for the Aquincum Bridge. The Petőfi Bridge has not undergone a full renovation since 1980, with partial repairs in 1996 and 2013-2014. Preparations for the modernization have been ongoing for several years, with further planning and procurement expected to continue until 2029.
