"The train is missed". Tua has a dam but lost the railway
The Tua railway line, closed since 2008 due to severe accidents, has not resumed service despite the construction of the Foz Tua Dam, which promised to allow trains to operate again. Local residents, particularly elderly individuals, express their longing for the train service that once connected them to nearby towns. The dam's construction was supposed to include a daily and a tourist train service as part of its environmental impact declaration, but this has not materialized. The mayor of Vila Flor criticizes the government for allowing the dam to operate without fulfilling these commitments, emphasizing the need for the promised train service to be reinstated.
