MPs will vote on the fees in the early morning, pushed by Okamura. The opposition pounded the benches.

The Czech Parliament will vote on the abolition of broadcasting fees on October 24, initiated by Tomio Okamura. The government coalition limited the debate to nine hours and restricted speaking time for regular MPs to 20 minutes. Opposition members attempted to delay the vote but were unsuccessful. The proposed law suggests funding Czech Television and Czech Radio from the state budget, which the Minister of Culture defends as a common European solution. Meanwhile, protests against the expedited legislative process are planned by the group Milion chvilek.
