Obrazem: Jak vypadá přelomová odstávka v Temelíně
The first block of the Temelín nuclear power plant is currently undergoing a planned outage for a crucial fuel exchange. After years, nuclear fuel from the American company Westinghouse is returning to South Bohemia, sourced from a plant in Sweden. Alongside American fuel assemblies, French fuel from Framatome is also used at Temelín. This outage will extend fuel cycles, allowing the plant to operate for a year and a half followed by a two-month shutdown. Longer fuel cycles reduce outages, enhancing safety and increasing the average production of emission-free electricity. The management of the fuel exchange is conducted remotely under strict criteria, with around 19,000 tasks to be completed during the two-month period.
