The culling of wild boars will remain unlimited. The voivode will not annul the resolution.

At the end of September, the Mazovian Voivodeship Assembly approved a resolution allowing the culling of wild boars in Warsaw without a set limit. This decision, requested by the city's mayor, aims to address safety concerns regarding boars that have lost their natural fear of humans. The resolution has sparked opposition from animal rights groups and some experts, who argue it poses risks to residents, especially children. The voivode is reviewing the legality of the resolution but has found no grounds for annulment. Meanwhile, activists are monitoring culling activities, claiming that recent actions have been conducted at night to avoid public scrutiny. The Municipal Forests have reported that only a small percentage of interventions result in the death of animals, with 481 boars culled since the beginning of 2026.
