OE2027: More than 100 unionists contest the budget in front of the Assembly of the Republic

Over a hundred union leaders and activists protested outside the Assembly of the Republic in Lisbon against the proposed State Budget for 2027. The coordinator of the Common Front, Sebastião Santana, criticized the budget as inadequate for the Portuguese people and a continuation of harmful policies for public services. He highlighted the government's lack of negotiation proposals regarding public sector salaries and announced a national strike for November 20 to oppose the budget. Santana emphasized the need for a salary increase of at least 15% and a minimum wage of 1,150 euros for public sector workers. The protesters called for urgent changes in policy and better wages.
