OE2027. Minister claims that new reference framework for the SNS will be signed in the coming days
The Minister of Health announced that the Global Reference Framework (QGR) for 2027-2029 will be signed soon, aligning management tools for the SNS. Despite the QGR for 2026-2028 being effective from January 1, its publication was delayed until September. Ana Paula Martins emphasized the need for clear rules and accountability for local health units (ULS) and oncology institutes (IPO). She addressed misconceptions about rising health expenses, stating that the SNS is managing a growing and diverse population while maintaining stable spending. The government plans to enhance public health capacity and utilize private sectors to address waiting lists for medical services. The state budget proposal for 2027 has been approved in general terms, with final voting scheduled for November 24.
