OE2027. Electronic voting will be tested on emigrants for the Community Council elections

Portuguese emigrants will vote electronically for the first time in the upcoming elections for the Council of Portuguese Communities. This pilot project, announced by the Secretary of State for Internal Administration, Telmo Correia, aims to enhance participation among citizens living abroad. The initiative involves collaboration between several ministries and will assess risks and outcomes. The elections are scheduled for February 2027, with the potential for future replication of electronic voting.
