Offices of European Parliament far-right group raided in EU funds investigation
On October 21, police conducted a search at the European Parliament's Louise-Weiss building, targeting the offices of the Patriots for Europe group. This investigation, led by France's Central Office for Combating Corruption, is linked to financial crime suspicions involving the Identity and Democracy group, previously led by the Rassemblement National. The search was confirmed by MEP Jean-Paul Garraud and focused on Philip Claeys, a former Vlaams Belang member and current secretary general of Patriots. Belgian police also raided Claeys' offices in Brussels.
