In October, we should not expect rain anymore

On October 25 and 26, rain fell across most of Hungary, including the previously dry eastern regions. The precipitation ranged from 0 to 10 millimeters, with only a few areas remaining dry. During the night, rain showers are expected to diminish, although minor storms may still occur in the east. By October 27, clearer and sunnier weather is anticipated, except for some cloudiness in the eastern part. Despite the recent rain, Hungary continues to face severe water shortages, with the Danube reaching historical low levels and many water bodies drying up. Geophysicist Gábor Timár suggests that around 1000 billion forints are needed for water replenishment efforts, emphasizing the importance of groundwater restoration and reforming agricultural practices.
