Oleshky evacuees reunite with families after truce allows crossing into Ukraine

Evacuees from Oleshky, recently liberated from Russian occupation, reunited with families in Ukraine after a significant rescue operation during a temporary ceasefire. The operation, facilitated by various humanitarian organizations, allowed around 750 people to escape dire conditions, including food shortages and daily dangers from drone strikes. Ukrainian authorities reported that evacuees included individuals of all ages, some bringing pets. While the mission was deemed successful, challenges remain for those who chose to stay in Oleshky, and ongoing humanitarian efforts are planned. Meanwhile, drone attacks continue to affect both Ukrainian and Russian territories, highlighting the ongoing conflict.
