OM demands severe penalties against employees of illegal medicine site
The Public Prosecution Service demands sentences of 10 and 6.5 years for two suspects linked to Slaappillen.net, a webshop that sold counterfeit oxycodone containing the dangerous substance nitazenes. At least three deaths are attributed to this substance, with nitazenes found in the blood of thirteen deceased individuals in the Netherlands. The suspects, residents of Breda, were not the main operators of the site; one managed a large stock of drugs, while the other, a PostNL employee, facilitated shipping. Both claim ignorance of the pills' contamination. The prosecution argues they were key players in a professionally run drug business, targeting vulnerable customers. The court will deliver its verdict on November 17.
