Controversial au pair agency Nina Care declared bankrupt
Nina Care has filed for bankruptcy, with significant debts including €378,000 owed to a pension fund. The court has approved the bankruptcy, while the founders aim for a restart. The curator is investigating the status of outstanding payments, noting debts to the tax authorities and complaints from parents who paid for services not received. Previous issues included sending au pairs to the UK without proper visas, leading to detentions and the revocation of their operating license. The company also violated regulations regarding work hours for au pairs, accumulating fines of €110,000. Following the loss of their license, Nina Care shifted focus to EU citizens, who do not require a visa.
