Withdrawal ban lifted in East Flanders at 3 locations, drought remains concerning
The governor of East Flanders has lifted the temporary ban on water extraction from non-navigable waterways and public canals in three zones, while the ban remains in effect in other areas. Governor Carina Van Cauter noted that the drought situation is still concerning, with water levels remaining low for this time of year. Additionally, the semi-permanent ban on extraction from ecologically vulnerable waterways in East Flanders has been extended until November 30, instead of ending in October.
