'A lot of what is said in the House of Representatives also comes from AI'

Recent research reveals that many Dutch MPs use AI tools like ChatGPT for their speeches in the House of Representatives. A study by De Groene Amsterdammer and Investico found that 68 MPs utilized AI-generated texts last year. The analysis focused on speeches, excluding interruptions and motions, indicating a broad acceptance of AI across various political factions, particularly among right-wing parties. Former MP Lahlah, now a city councilor, acknowledged using AI to condense citizen stories into concise speeches. While some MPs admit to using AI for drafting, they emphasize that it serves as a tool for refinement rather than a replacement for their own words. The findings highlight a growing trend of AI integration in political communication.
