Opposition says that CPLP mission puts Guinea-Bissau back on the international agenda

Domingos Simões Pereira, leader of the Guinean opposition, stated that a CPLP mission to Guinea-Bissau indicates renewed international attention on the country's situation. He emphasized the importance of genuine dialogue for constitutional normality and criticized selective actions by current authorities. Pereira, recently released from preventive detention, expressed confidence in his innocence and highlighted the need for the people's choice in governance. Guinea-Bissau remains suspended from CPLP activities since December 2025 due to a military coup that disrupted elections.
