Anita Orbán: The deadline for phasing out Russian natural gas is autumn 2027
Hungary is working to secure non-Russian oil imports through MOL, according to Foreign Minister Anita Orbán. She noted the EU's deadline for phasing out Russian gas by autumn 2027. There are intentions from Serbia, Russia, and Hungary for MOL to acquire Gazprom's stake in the Serbian oil company NIS by December 11. Orbán emphasized Hungary's potential as a significant energy hub due to its storage capacity and connections with six countries. During her visit to Washington, she signed agreements on energy cooperation and counter-terrorism with U.S. officials. The focus on left-wing radicalism in the agreements was initiated by the U.S., and Orbán clarified that Hungary does not differentiate based on ideology in its fight against radicalism.
