With the downfall of Orbán and Vucic, the VMSZ has lost both of its "political godfathers".

The recent Serbian elections have significant implications for both national and local politics, potentially leading to a shift in power dynamics. The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) led by former president Aleksandar Vucic faced a major setback, while the opposition Student List emerged victorious. In Vojvodina, the support for the previously cooperating Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (VMSZ) has collapsed, indicating a resurgence of pluralism in the region. Rózsa Zsombor, president of the newly formed Vojvodina Hungarian Restart (VMÚ), noted their collaboration with the Student List and their opposition to Vucic's authoritarian regime. The final results, expected Thursday, may reveal a dramatic decrease in VMSZ's parliamentary seats.
