Viktor Orbán, the social connection – how do we interpret the former prime minister's "A" card?

The claim by former Prime Minister Miklós Németh regarding Viktor Orbán's alleged collaboration with secret services has resurfaced. Orbán refuted this on Facebook by sharing documents. Németh's assertion is weakened as he only speculates about the authenticity of the documents without verification. These documents were previously published in 2012 and are still available on the parliament's website. There was an attempt by internal security to recruit Orbán, which failed, but investigations against him and his wife began. Németh referenced Defense Minister Ferenc Kárpáti, who allegedly showed him Orbán's report. During military service, Orbán was monitored by military intelligence as a so-called social contact. Simicska Lajos recounted Orbán's supposed words about needing to report on him, but the details of Orbán's connections with pre-transition secret services remain ambiguous and unprovable.
