Trade unions protest against pension cuts

The Common Front and Fenprof are organizing a protest in Lisbon to oppose the Caixa Geral de Aposentações' plan to reduce pensions for around 3,000 retirees, including teachers. This follows the discovery of a calculation error that resulted in pensions being set above the legal limit. The protest, themed "CGA: IT'S NOT A 'MISTAKE'! IT'S INTENTION!", aims to reject demands for repayment of excess funds. The unions argue that the CGA's actions represent a harmful reinterpretation of pension calculation rules established in 2007. The protest is scheduled for Tuesday at 10:30 AM near the Ministry of Labor, with participation from public sector workers.
