Orlen and Synthos reached an agreement on small nuclear. Orlen will not abandon the project

Orlen and Synthos Green Energy have reached an agreement to clarify their partnership regarding small modular reactors (SMR) in Poland. Despite previous tensions, the agreement outlines share distribution and operational control for upcoming projects, including the first SMR in Włocławek. Orlen will hold 70% of the shares, ensuring operational oversight. Discussions about licensing fees have resolved prior uncertainties, and further agreements are expected this year. Additionally, the option for a CANDU reactor remains open as a contingency. The collaboration aims to advance environmental studies and construction permits for the SMR projects.
