The Romanian intelligence service uncovered a Russian connection during the investigation of the fire that broke out at the ammunition factory in Brașov.

The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) has uncovered a Russian-directed sabotage network involved in a fire at the Carfil munitions factory in Brașov. The investigation revealed the involvement of two Belarusian and one Ukrainian citizen, with two suspects arrested in Germany and another identified in Poland. The SRI indicated that the network's activities extend beyond Romania, targeting military and industrial sites in the region. This incident is part of a broader series of coordinated sabotage actions by Russia across Europe, aimed at intimidation and undermining defense capabilities. The SRI also noted that recruitment for such sabotage often begins on social media, exploiting individuals' vulnerabilities.
