Two military aircraft collided in the air, four pilots died in the Philippines – with video
All four pilots died in a mid-air collision between two Philippine Air Force training aircraft during an exercise. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon in the northeastern part of the country, near Batangas province, where the planes were stationed. The Marchetti SF-260 light training aircraft crashed over the base area, with images showing them wrecked near buildings. The pilots were part of a seven-plane formation that collided while separating after takeoff. The remaining five aircraft landed safely. The military has launched an investigation into the causes and circumstances of the accident and has temporarily suspended training flights with the involved aircraft type.
