Last meeting. The report of the investigative committee on Pegasus has been adopted
The Polish parliamentary commission investigating the use of the Pegasus system concluded its work, stating that its acquisition and use by authorities from 2015 to 2023 were illegal. The final report was accepted unanimously by the present members, with no amendments submitted by absent members. The report highlighted that Pegasus was used without necessary security accreditation and that data could have been sent abroad. The commission identified responsible individuals and reported them to the prosecutor's office. Pegasus, designed for counter-terrorism, allows extensive surveillance capabilities, raising concerns about its funding from victim assistance funds.
