Shelling in the Strait of Hormuz. An Indian sailor is dead, the ship's crew has been evacuated

An Indian sailor was killed when the MSC Al Jusufi was attacked near Limah, Oman, as reported by Reuters. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the remaining 13 crew members were evacuated by the Omani coast guard. Since the onset of the US-Israel conflict with Iran in February, at least fourteen Indian sailors have died. Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil and gas exports, and has begun attacking commercial vessels, claiming control over the waterway. In response, US forces have imposed their own blockade on Iranian ports and are assisting operators in navigating a new route along the Omani coast.
