Scammers are sending fake fines. GITD warns drivers about SMS messages
Fraudsters are sending fake SMS messages to drivers about traffic violations recorded by speed cameras, attempting to steal money or personal data. The General Inspectorate of Road Transport (GITD) warns that they do not send such messages or payment links. The messages inform recipients of alleged speed violations, including false claims about the A2 highway speed measurement system, which is not operational. GITD emphasizes that official notifications come via Polish Post or the eBOK CANARD portal. Drivers receiving suspicious messages can verify their authenticity with CANARD and report fraudulent messages to CERT Polska.
