The editor-in-chief of The Insider was sentenced to five and a half years in prison in Moscow
A Moscow court sentenced Roman Dobrohotov, founder of The Insider, to five and a half years in absentia for operating an undesirable organization. He was also banned from managing websites for five years. This is not his first legal trouble regarding participation in undesirable organization activities. In 2022, he was arrested in absentia for illegal border crossing, and a warrant was issued for his arrest by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Insider is an online publication focused on investigative journalism and fact-checking, previously labeled as a foreign agent and undesirable organization.
