A record has been broken. More and more Germans are moving to Poland

In 2025, Poland saw a record migration of 4,942 German citizens, while 1,720 Germans moved to Germany from Poland, resulting in a net migration of over 3,200 people. This is the highest figure since 2000. Lower living costs in Poland, with consumer prices at 73.3% of the EU average compared to Germany's 108.3%, attract many, especially retirees and remote workers. Additionally, Poles report higher life satisfaction, scoring 7.6 out of 10, compared to the EU average of 7.2 and Germany's 7.0. Safety perceptions also differ, with only 2.8% of Poles feeling crime is a problem, versus 10.7% in Germany.
