The Pope will go on a pilgrimage to South America
Pope Leon XIV is recovering after lung surgery and has been diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma. The Vatican confirmed his good health and stated he can proceed with his upcoming apostolic trip to South America. Scheduled for November 6-17, 2026, the trip will cover Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru, involving extensive travel and numerous speeches. Despite his recovery, he canceled a planned visit to Assisi on medical advice but continues to fulfill some duties, including addressing the public in St. Peter's Square.
