Unprecedented strategic partnership between Russia and China

During a working visit to China, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov stated that the strategic partnership between Russia and China has reached unprecedented levels. He emphasized the importance of personal contacts between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping. Belousov congratulated General Zhang Shengmin on his election to the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party. Zhang expressed confidence in the ongoing strengthening of military cooperation between the two nations. The partnership has intensified since the declaration of a 'limitless friendship' prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, reflecting increased political, commercial, and military collaboration, particularly in the energy sector amid Western sanctions.
