Paris: the court suspends the curfew for unaccompanied minors

On October 28, the administrative court suspended the curfew for unaccompanied minors in certain Paris areas, which was imposed after urban violence on October 17. The judges found no specific evidence of risks to minors during the curfew hours. The curfew, initially set from 9 PM to 6 AM, restricted minors from being in public spaces without a legal guardian. The court deemed this restriction a serious and manifestly illegal infringement on minors' freedom of movement. Vigie Liberté, the organization that filed the urgent appeal, welcomed the ruling, stating it curtails excessive police measures affecting public freedoms.
