Parliament approves lobbying regulation

The Portuguese Parliament approved a resolution regulating the registration and publicity of interactions by interest representatives with the Assembly of the Republic. This resolution, supported by several parties except the PCP, follows the December law on lobbying regulation. It establishes rules for publicizing interactions and sets norms for legislative footprint mechanisms. A Transparency Register for Interest Representation (RTRI) was created to manage these interactions, requiring representatives to register before meetings. The regulation mandates detailed records of interactions, including dates, types, and participant identities, ensuring transparency in legislative processes.
