Parliament establishes itself as an assistant in the process regarding the alleged assault on Ventura's office

The Portuguese Parliament has decided to act as an assistant in the judicial process regarding the alleged break-in at the office of Chega leader André Ventura. This decision was communicated by José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, who stated that the Assembly aims to actively monitor the investigation into crimes related to unauthorized access, qualified theft, and damage to parliamentary property. The legal representation will be provided pro bono by lawyer José António Barreiros. Ventura reported vandalism in his office, including missing USB drives containing sensitive information. The investigation is being conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the National Counter-Terrorism Unit, with Ventura and other Chega deputies set to testify.
