Parliament is an assistant in the Chega cabinet case

The Assembly of the Republic has decided to assist in the judicial process regarding the alleged break-in at the office of Chega's leader, André Ventura. This decision was communicated through a letter from José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, stating that the Assembly aims to actively monitor the investigation into potential crimes related to the incident. José António Barreiros will represent the Assembly pro bono. The investigation follows reports of vandalism in Ventura's office, where items, including USB drives, were reported missing. The Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an inquiry, which is being supported by the Judicial Police, and Ventura and other Chega deputies are set to testify.
