Paulo Fonseca said goodbye to the Lyon players

Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca bid farewell to Lyon players amid reports of his transfer to Sporting. Jorge Maciel will temporarily lead Lyon for upcoming matches. Sporting recently announced Rui Borges' departure, with Tiago Fernandes taking over as interim coach. Fonseca, who joined Lyon in February 2025, may return to Portugal after over a decade, having previously coached several clubs including Porto and Braga. Borges leaves after two years, having led Sporting to a league title and a cup victory, but faced challenges in the current season.
