Gíria Theater Play Nominated for Award in Uruguay

The Portuguese play A 20 de novembro by Teatro Gíria has been nominated for the 2026 Florencio Awards in Uruguay for best foreign show. The play, written by Lars Nóren and directed by Rodrigo Aleixo, explores the thoughts of an 18-year-old inspired by Sebastian Bosse, who planned a school massacre. It highlights themes of violence, alienation, and the illusion of freedom. The nomination was announced at Teatro Solís in Montevideo, with the awards ceremony scheduled for December 3. The play has toured various locations since its premiere in 2020 and will continue to perform internationally, including in Argentina and Europe in 2027.
