Teachers' Union: This is not enough to recover from the crisis
The proposed budget for next year increases funding for education, but the promised salary raises for education workers fall short of campaign commitments. Gosztonyi Gábor from the Teachers' Union criticized the government's budget plan, noting that while overall funding for education is rising, the promised 25% salary increase for educators has been reduced to 15% by 2027. He expressed concerns about whether upcoming minimum wage increases would count towards this raise. The union leader emphasized that the current 5.5% salary increase is merely a correction, as teachers' salaries are already at 80% of the average graduate salary. He called for more structured negotiations between the government and unions to address these issues.
