Poll indicator: minority coalition dozens of seats in the minus
The latest Peilingwijzer shows significant losses for coalition parties, with D66 dropping to 13-17 seats. The VVD is projected to hold 14-18 seats, while the CDA falls to 12-16. The opposition party PRO remains the largest with 25-31 seats, benefiting from dissatisfaction with the current government. VVD leader Dilan Yesilgöz has the lowest approval rating among political leaders, with only 28% of former VVD voters supporting her candidacy for the next elections. The PVV also sees a decline, while parties like JA21 and Forum for Democracy gain support. Smaller parties like 50Plus and the Party for the Animals are projected to have 4-6 seats, while BBB is nearly absent with 0-2 seats. Political scientist Tom Louwerse notes that polling outside election periods has limited predictive value but influences party strategies and negotiations.
