On Friday morning, a Russian oil refinery was attacked again.

A drone attack targeted an oil refinery in Novokuybishevsk, Samara region, early Friday, according to local officials. Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported that no casualties occurred during the incident, which involved a record number of drones launched from Kyiv. The Russian defense ministry claimed to have shot down 1,043 Ukrainian drones over Samara and other regions. While Ukraine has not officially claimed responsibility, a Ukrainian defense company hinted at involvement. This incident is notable as it follows reports of a temporary halt in attacks on Russian oil refineries, allegedly due to pressure from former U.S. President Donald Trump. The refinery in question produces aviation fuel for the Russian military.
