This action is part of an investigation into alleged irregularities in the use of EU funds, specifically targeting the former Identity and Democracy group. The Parliament's financial service reported irregular expenditures totaling €4.3 million from 2019 to 2024. The European Public Prosecutor's Office, responsible for investigating financial crimes affecting the EU budget, initiated the inquiry based on Parliament's reports. Jean-Paul Garraud, president of the RN delegation, confirmed the ongoing raids in Strasbourg.
