Sardine fishing with new limits starting Wednesday
New daily limits for sardine fishing will be implemented starting Wednesday due to current catch levels and increased landings. The Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM) announced that vessels up to nine meters can unload a maximum of 2,250 kg, while those between nine and 16 meters are limited to 3,938 kg. Vessels over 16 meters can unload up to 5,625 kg. These measures aim to ensure compliance with established limits for the current fishing campaign. The Sardine Monitoring Committee was consulted regarding these changes, which take effect at midnight on Wednesday.
