Sardine fishing with new limits starting Wednesday
New daily limits for sardine fishing have been established due to current catch levels and increased landings. The Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM) announced that vessels under nine meters can land a maximum of 2,250 kg, while those between nine and sixteen meters are limited to 3,938 kg. Vessels over sixteen meters can land up to 5,625 kg. These measures aim to ensure compliance with the set limits for the fishing campaign. The Sardine Monitoring Commission was consulted regarding these changes, which take effect from midnight Wednesday.
