Petr Pavel is among the favorites to be the European negotiator on Ukraine, writes The Telegraph

Czech President Petr Pavel is among five politicians considered by European leaders as potential negotiators with Vladimir Putin to end the Ukraine war. The Telegraph reports that Europe seeks a more prominent role in negotiations, as U.S. efforts have not yielded significant results. Concerns are growing that U.S. President Donald Trump may not represent European interests. Other candidates include Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Störe. Pavel, with his military negotiation experience, believes Europe needs a representative to engage with Putin, who has ignored EU leaders. He suggests offering Russia incentives for cooperation, while critics warn that U.S. concessions may fund further conflict.
