Barricaded squares across Italy: tensions between protesters and law enforcement in Turin
Following the violent protests in Milan, demonstrations against war, rising costs, and detention centers are occurring across Italy. Police are on high alert with over 1,400 officers deployed in Milan. In Rome, a march titled "Get Italy Out of War" is underway without reported tensions. However, clashes occurred in Turin between protesters and police, leading to charges and object throwing. Various cities, including Bologna and Florence, are witnessing protests addressing government repression and living costs. In Naples, around 500 people are marching against rising prices, while in Castel Volturno, a large gathering is planned against a new detention center. Investigations into last week's violence are ongoing, with numerous searches conducted across multiple cities. Youssef Siher, the alleged organizer of the protests, is under investigation for incitement to commit crimes.
